Major James William Coldwell
(1888-1974) was a
Canadian
socialist
politician and leader of the
Cooperative Commonwealth Federation
(1942-1960). Coldwell was born in
England
and moved to Canada in
1910
where he became a school administrator in
Regina, Saskatchewan
. In
1935
, Major (his given name) was elected to the
House of Commons
representing the CCF.
