Manchester International Airport

Manchester International Airport (MAN) in Manchester, England, is a major aviation facility (the third largest in the UK) handling hundreds of domestic and international flights daily. It is owned by the Manchester Airport Group who own several other UK airports.

Located on the boundary between Cheshire and Manchester in England, the airport, formerly known as Ringway, is a hub for British Airways flights, and many other British carriers. It has two parallel runways, three adjacent terminals and a railway station. It was once the centre of operations of Cargolux's charter airline venture, Lion Air.

One of the British Airways Concorde supersonic airliners taken out of service earlier in the same month arrived at Manchester Airport on 31 October 2003 for use as a static display.

The airport handles large jets, including the Airbus A340 and the Boeing 747.
