Molybdenum disulfide

Molybdenum disulfide (Molybdenum disulphide in British English) is a compound of molybdenum and sulfur noted for its properties as a lubricant.

Similarly to graphite, this lubricating effect is produced by its structure, which contains close-spaced parallel cleavage planes.
