A moonscape is an area or vista of the lunar (the default is taken, or generally taken, to be Earth's moon) "landscape," and visual representations, such as paintings, of this, are called moonscapes or described as moonscapes. The term "moonscape" is sometimes used metaphorically for an area devastated or flattened by war, often by shelling.
