|}Mukdahan (Thai มุกดาหาร) is one of the north-eastern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from south clockwise) Amnat Charoen, Yasothon, Roi Et, Kalasin, Sakhon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom. To the east it borders Laos.

Geography
The province is located at the valley of the river Mekong. In the west of the province are the Phu Phan mountains, which are covered with thick forests.
History
The city Mukdahan was founded in 1770 by Chankinnaree, the Prince of Phonsim. It was originally administrated from Udon Thani, in 1907 it became a district (Amphoe) in the Nakhon Phanom province. 1982 the Amphoe Mukdahan was upgraded to a province.

The provincial seal shows the palace Prasart Song Nang Sathit, in which an opal is displayed on a tray. Provincial tree and flower is Ochna integerrima. |
