Multiflora rose, or Rosa multiflora, is a scrambling rose species native to eastern Asia, but which has been extensively planted as a conservation plant in the eastern United States, where it has become an out-of-control invasive exotic species, causing severe environmental and economic damage. It is readily distinguished from native roses in the U.S. by its flower or seed heads, which bear multiple flowers or hips, often more than a dozen, while native species bear only one or a few on a branch.
