Multnomah Falls is a large waterfall in the Columbia River Gorge, on the Oregon side. In two steps it drops 611 feet from its origin on Larch Mountain, making it the tallest waterfall in Oregon. It istied for fifth in vertical drop in the United States, or second highest of those falls which flow all year, but is not the fouth tallest waterfall in the United States, as sometimes thought.
The fall is easily reached via a scenic stretch of I-84 west of Portland, Oregon, or the even more scenic Columbia River Highway.
