National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States

The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States also known as the 9-11 Commission is composed of five Democratss and five Republicanss. It will issue its final report on May 27, 2004. Its mandate is to inquire into every aspect of the September 11, 2001 attacks including allegations of any variation of a 9/11 domestic conspiracy theory. Some have compared its role to that of the Warren Commission.

The members of the Commission are:

Thomas H. Kean (Chair) - former Governor of New Jersey
Lee H. Hamilton (Vice Chair) - former U.S. Representative from the 9th District of Indiana
Richard Ben-Veniste - attorney, former chief of the Watergate Task Force of the Watergate Special Prosecutor's Office
Fred F. Fielding - attorney
Jamie S. Gorelick - attorney
Slade Gorton - former Senator from Washington
Bob Kerrey - former Senator from Nebraska
John F. Lehman - former Secretary of the Navy
Timothy J. Roemer - former U.S. Representative from the 3rd District of Indiana
James R. Thompson - former Governor of Illinois
