Orangeville, Ontario

Orangeville (2001 population 25,248) is a town in southwestern Ontario, Canada. Orangeville is one of the furthest municipalities still unofficially considered part of the Greater Toronto Area. It was the seat of Dufferin County.

Named for and founded by Orange Lawrence, one of the early settlers in the 1830s, Orangeville was founded in 1863.

Manufacturing is the town's biggest industry.

A former news-variety station used to serve the area of Southern Huronia. CIDC was the only station in town. It became a top-40 station for the Toronto, Ontario and Area. The signals have been moved southeast to the centre of the Toronto Area.
