Parti Acadien

Le Parti Acadien was a political party in New Brunswick, Canada in the 1970s and 1980s. The party was founded in 1971 by Acadians who were upset over a perceived lack of respect for their people and culture by the provincial government (which until then was dominated by Anglophones), and wanted to form a separate Acadian province. Their feelings were similar to those in by Quebec seperatists during the Quiet Revolution, which led to the formation of the Parti Quebecois.

The Parti Acadien never elected a member to the provincial legislature, and disbanded in the mid-1980s.
