Lynde was the center square on the Hollywood Squares, played Uncle Arthur in Bewitched and was the befuddled father in Bye Bye Birdie. He provided voices in a variety of animated cartoons, including that of Templeton the Rat in the film Charlotte's Web and Sylvester Sneakly in the television series The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop.
