Pope Innocent IX (July 22, 1519 - December 30, 1591) was born as Gian Antonio Facchinetti in Bologna, Italy, succeeded Gregory XIV as Pope on October 29, 1591, and died on December 30 of the same year. His short pontificate was unimportant.
