The stadium, which opened in 1987 as Joe Robbie Stadium, seats 74,975 people for football and 36,331 for baseball.
It is owned by local tycoon H. Wayne Huizenga, who some see has charged enough rent to the Marlins to make playing in the stadium unprofitable. This is thought to be one of the primary reasons the Marlins have been pushing for a stadium of their own.
