Pyrokinesis is the psi ability to create or add heat to a substance, possibly igniting the object on fire. Pyrokinesis is a minor form of psychokinesis, often similar to poltergeist activity. Stephen King's Firestarter and Carrie feature the prominent use of pyrokinesis. In fantasticscience fiction and superherocomic books, a pyrokinetic is often capable of generating flames from thin air, not requiring the consumption of combustible objects to feed the flames.
