Radiocommunications Agency

The Radiocommunications Agency was an Executive Agency of the United Kingdom Department of Trade and Industry.

The agency was responsible for the management of the non-military radio spectrum in the United Kingdom, which involves international representation, commissioning research, allocating spectrum and licensing its use, and keeping the radio spectrum free from unauthorised use through enforcement.

The Agency's headquarters were in London, England; it also had five regional offices throughout England and one each in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

On 28 December 2003 the duties of the Radiocommunications Agency were inherited by Ofcom, which is the result of a consolidation of the British telecommunication and broadcasting regulators.
