Ray Lewis (NFL)

Ray Lewis (born in May 15, 1975) is an American Football linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens NFL franchise from Bartow, Florida.

Lewis played college football at University of Miami. In 1996, he was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 1st Round as the 26th Pick. Lewis consistently gains over 100 solo tackles each season he played for the Ravens and considered by many as the best linebacker currently playing. He led Baltimore to a Super Bowl XXXV victory and was named Most Valuable Player for that game. He also won the Associated Press's 2000 and 2003 NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards.

However his image was tarnished during a Super Bowl party on January 31, 2000, when he was arrested along with his friends for the murders of Jacinth Baker and Richard Lollar. The murder charges were eventually dropped, but Lewis did plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice.
