Raymond Lambert is a Swiss mountain climber, who with SherpaTenzing Norgay reached an altitude of 8611 metres (just 237 metres from the summit) of Mount Everest in May 1952. By that time it was the highest point that a climber had ever reached. A year later Tenzing returned with Edmund Hillary to reach the summit on May 291953.
