Roche Melon
Roche Melon (also known as Rocciamelone) is a mountain in the Graian Alps on the France-Italy border. Roche Melon is located 50 km (30 mi) west of Turin at 45°30' N and 7° 10' E and has an altitude of 3,538 metres (11,605'). This was the first high mountain in the Alps to be attempted and successfully climbed.
Bonifacius Rotarius (of Asti) made the first ascent of Roche Melon in 1358.
