Ron Mix

Ron Mix

Ronald Jack Mix was born on March 10, 1938, in Los Angeles, California. Mix attended USC and upon graduation played offensive tackle and guard for the Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers (1960-69) and Oakland Raiders (1971).

Nicknamed "The Intellectual Assassin" for his sharp play and possession of a law degree, Mix was called for a mere 2 holding penalties in 10 years. A 9-time All-AFL selection, Mix won an AFL championship in 1963. Unanimously voted to the AFL's all-time squad, Mix was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979.
