Saint David's Day

Saint David's Day is the day that the patron saint of Wales, Saint David, is celebrated. It falls on March 1 every year.

Children wear Welsh costumes and take part in school concerts, with recitation and singing being the main activities; however, the half-day school holiday is no longer given.

Welsh people wear the national emblems of the daffodil or leek on this day.
