Santa Clara Valley

Santa Clara Valley is a valley on the San Francisco Peninsula in northern California in the United States. Silicon Valley is based in Santa Clara Valley, and includes much of Santa Clara County, California. It was originally known as Valley of Heart's Delight. The northern end of the Valley is the southern tip of the San Francisco Bay, the southern end is in the vicinity of Gilroy, California and Morgan Hill, California. It is bounded by the Santa Cruz Mountains on the southwest and the Diablo Range on the northeast. South of the Bay it is about 30 miles long and about 15 miles wide.
