Sarariman

Sarariman is a Japanese term for a white-collar worker. It derives from the Japanese pronounciation of the English salary + man. According to dictionaries, English language had recently got this word (salaryman) back from the Japanese.

There is more to the word than just a "salaried man". Common associations with the word are: long working hours and karoshi, low prestige in the corporate hierarchy, absence of significant sources of income other than salary, wage slavery.
