Scat

Scat has several different meanings:

• Scat singing is a vocal technique common in jazz. See Ska for Jamaican mouth music.
• Scat is also used as a term for animal feces and for the sexual fetish of coprophilia. The study of feces is known as scatology.
• Scats are fish found in fresh, brackish and saltwater. They belong to the family Scatophagidae and are commonly kept in hobby aquaria.
• Scat is an American card game, unrelated to skat.
• The interjection Scat! means "Go away!" or "Begone!". The Oxford English Dictionary conjectures that it comes from a hissing sound, followed by the word cat.
• Scat is a slang term for heroin.
