Schiltrons

Because of the threat posed by the Feudal English knights, the Scots needed a special tactic. They used their Common pike to arrange a special defensive tactic known as schiltrons. Schiltrons are groups of men crouching shoulder to shoulder with their long pikes slanted outwards.
