Sequential art

Sequential art refers to the art form of using a series of ordered, static images to tell a story or convey information. The best-known example of sequential art is comics, especially comic books and comic strips.

The term was coined by comics artist Will Eisner in his book Comics and Sequential Art.

The term is rarely applied to other media, such as film, animation or storyboards.
