The Sherman Antitrust Act, named for its author, SenatorJohn Sherman of Ohio, is the principal antimonopoly law in United Statesbusiness law. It made illegal "Every contract, combination, in the form of trust, or otherwise, or conspiracy, in restraint of trade or commerce among the several states."
