Shiv Sena

Shiv Sena is a political party in India founded on June 19, 1966 by Bal Thackeray. It is a Hindu nationalist party. In the 13th Lok Sabha (1999-2004), it had 15 (out of 545) members.

On December 24, 2003, Shiv Sena activists attacked two paan shops run by Biharis in Pune. The act was in protest against Laloo Prasad Yadav's remarks challenging Sena chief Bal Thackeray to stop Biharis from coming to Maharashtra. [1]
