There were two notable men named Simon de Montfort in the middle ages:

• Simon de Montfort, 5th Earl of Leicester was a French noble prominent in the Fourth Crusade and the Albigensian Crusade.
• Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester, the son of the above, was a powerful English baron who led a revolt against King Henry III of England.
