Skarn

Skarn is a finegrained metamorphic rock that is usually coloured green or red, ocassionally grey, black, brown or white. It forms through thermal metamorphism in the contact zone of magmatic intrusions like granites and carbonate-rich rockss like limestone. It contains silicate minerals like pyroxene and is rich in copper, lead, zinc and tungsten.
