Songs of a Dead Dreamer is an electronica album by [DJ Spooky]], released on March 26, 1996 (see 1996 in music). The album was a critical success, though popular acceptance was lukewarm. Widely regarded as one of the first examples of illbient music, Songs of a Dead Dreamer was, at the time, a virtually-unique fusion of electronic music and hip hop.
