Sound chip

A \'sound chip' is an integrated circuit (i.e. "chip") designed to produce sound. It might be doing this through digital, analog or mixed-mode electronics. Sound chips normally contain things like oscillatorss, envelope controllers, sample units, filters and amplifiers.
