Sweet woodruff (Galium odoratum Rubiaceae) has leaves that become very fragrant when dried. It is used to flavor drinks and is mixed in white wine, especially in Germany. It is also an ingredient in some sausages.
The plant is a favorite ground cover in shady places. The tiny white flowers and verticillate leaves make an unusual but charming bed.
