Temuco, Chile

Temuco is a city in Chile, capital of the IX región de Chile (la Araucanía). It is located at 670 kms South of Santiago. Its population is about 300,000 people.

Temuco means "water of temu", in Mapudungun (from Mapuche people). Temu is a medicinal plant used for aboriginal people.
