The Great White Hope is a 1970 film which tells the fictionalized life story of boxing champion Jack Johnson (here called Jack Jefferson). It stars James Earl Jones, Jane Alexander, Chester Morris , Hal Holbrook, Beah Richards and Moses Gunn.
The movie was adapted by Howard Sackler from his play. It was directed by Martin Ritt.
