The Shins are a Albuquerque, New Mexico rock band formed in 1997 (see 1997 in music). The group is comprised of vocalist and guitarist James Russell Mercer, keyboardist Martin Crandall, bassist Dave Hernandez, and drummer Jesse Sandoval.
