Treaty of Saint-Germain

The Treaty of Saint-Germain was a national, territorial and financial agreement signed after World War I. It mainly sought to penalise and control Austria, which had seen its Habsburg monarchy removed following its military defeat. Various parts of Austria were surrendered to other nearby countries, rights of independence and inviolability assured, and reparations demanded.
