| Trillium grandiflorum
|
Trillium grandiflorum, or Large-flowered trillium, is a member of the Trilliaceae family and is native to northeast United States and southeast Canada. The stalkless flower develops directly over a whorl of three leaves. The flower is not apparent in its closed state, but soon opens to a large, triple-petaled bloom. As the flower ages, it turns pink. A cultivar is available for gardening.
