The church was organized by James D. Harmston, who claimed to be visited by four angels (Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and Moses) who ordained him as an Apostle. The church practices polygamy and the Law of Consecration, which requires members to consecrate all their possessions to the church, which gives each member a "stewardship" according to their needs and wants.
