U.S. two dollar banknote

The $2 bill is a not very common denomination of U.S. currency. Its portrait is Thomas Jefferson. Unlike the denomination bills of $5 to $10,000, it didn't exist as a large-sized note prior to 1928. Instead, it began in 1928. Then, in 1966, the original $2 bill with Monticello on the back was discontinued. Then, in 1976, it returned, with the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the back. Unlike the $5 to $100 bills, which began to change appearance from 1996 to 2000 (the exact year depends on the denomination,) the $2 bill continues to have its traditional appearance because it is not worth counterfeiting.

If you can, you may add more events in the history of this bill, as well as a picture.
