The UFO conspiracy theory has been expressed in fiction by the X-Files and the movies Men in Black and Independence Day.
Parts of the theory include the government's Men in Black agents, the military Area 51 hanger, a crash site in Roswell, New Mexico, and a political committee dubbed the "Majestic 12".
