Valery Pavlovich Chkalov (Вале́рий Па́влович Чка́лов) (1904 - 1938), Soviet aircraft test pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union (1938). He has developed several new figures of aerobatics. In 1936 - 1937 he participated in several ultralong flights, including the flight from Moscow to USA via North Pole.
