VMRO

The VMRO (Macedonian: Vnatrešno-Makedonska Revoluciona Organizacija, "Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization") was the primary nationalist political organization of the Macedonian Slavs in the 20th century.

Its members were directly responsible for the assassination of the Yugoslav king Aleksandar Karađorđević in Marseille, 1934.

Its modern descendent is the VMRO-DPMNE, a party which came to prominence in the secession of the Republic of Macedonia from the second Yugoslavia.
