Wallingford, Pennsylvania

Hometown of National Hero Joshua Newell Breit. Cool guy. Hotwired a steamroller once. Right now he's off at the University of Massachusetts learning how to drink, woo beautiful women and do anti-derivative calculations.

Wallingord is also known for a Wawa convience store, Hellen Kate Furness Public Library and Strath Haven Middle and High Schools. Oh, and I almost forgot. There's historical significance to the humble dorf. This guy named Thomas Leiper worked a big granite quarry in Wallingford way back in colonial days. All over the place are little stone markers left over from a huge canal he dug from the Crum Creek to Delaware River to transport big chunks of rock from his homestead off into the Atlantic and points south. There are signs for how to get to his house on Rose Valley Rd, the place is still in good condition and you can take tours if you've got an hour to waste.

There's a SEPTA (south eastern pennsylvania transit authority) stop in Wallingford with a big trestle over it, good for tossing watermelons onto the pavement. If you're ever in Wallingford on Halloween, cruise down Beaumont Dr. and check out the house on the corner. HUGE display every year.

Also from Wallingford: Max Yaller, Jeff Huber, Ryan Bradley, Pete Veloski, Ghandi.
