Wishmaster

Wishmaster and its sequels are movies about a djinni that is released from a jewel, and seeks to capture enough souls to open a portal and free the fellow djinni from the prison. The djinni does this by granting a wish that also captures the wisher's soul.

In each movie, the djinni goes about this a different way, but in all of the movies the three wishes must be granted to the "Waker" or person who released the djinni from the imprisoning gem (in all four movies a woman). In all four movies, the djinni is resealed or destroyed before it can release its comrades and create a literal hell on Earth.
