Wolhynian Voivodship

Wolhynian Voivodship (województwo wołyńskie), capital Luck, was an administrative unit of the Second Polish Republic (1921--1939).

Major cities (in Polish spelling): Dubno, Kowel, Krzemeniec, Ostróg, Równe, Sarny, Włodzimierz.

Population: the majority was Ukrainians, with 15% of Poles and Jews. German and Czech settlers, arrived in 19th century, were also notable. Religion is mostly of Orthodoxy, also some Catholic denominations and the adherents of the Mosaic Law.
