Youndem Kana is a member of the Interim Iraq Governing Council created following the United States's 2003 invasion of Iraq. An Assyrian Christian from Iraq's Kurdistan region, Kana served in the Kurdistan administration, first in its regional assembly, then as minister for public works. He is the secretary general of the Democratic Assyrian Movement.
