Z shell

The Z shell (zsh) is a Unix shell that can be used both as an interactive, login shell and as a shell script command interpreter.

It is most similar to the Korn shell (ksh), but it also includes many features from the C shell (csh) as well. In effect, it attempts to combine the programmability and syntax of the Korn shell with useful features from the C shell, since the C shell has some serious drawbacks as a programming language.

Attesting to the sheer size of this shell is the now famous first sentence of the shell's manual page which says Because zsh contains many features, the zsh manual has been split into a number of sections, and then goes on to list thirteen items. This is a bit peculiar because generally a single Unix command gets a single manual page.
