仏滅
（ぶつめつ）とは
六曜
の一つ。

釈迦の入滅
釈迦または諸仏が死亡すること。釈迦および諸仏の死は輪廻転生のうちに起るのではなく、絶対平安の涅槃そのものに入ることと考えられており、この涅槃を訳して「滅」あるいは「滅度」と呼んだ。
三時説によれば、釈迦の入滅後、最初の1000年(500年とも)を正法、次の1000年を像法、その後の１万年を末法とする。平安時代には仏滅を紀元前949年とする説が一般的だった。
