エドガー・アラン・ポー

エドガー・アラン・ポー (Edgar Allan Poe) (1809年1月19日- 1849年10月7日) は、アメリカ合衆国ボストン生まれの小説家、SF作家、推理作家、ホラー作家、詩人。

1841年に発表された小説『モルグ街の殺人』には探偵オーギュスト・デュパンが登場し、史上初の推理小説と評価されることが多い。

日本の推理作家、江戸川乱歩の名前は、エドガー・アラン・ポーをもじって付けられたものである。
